Versatile chartplotters delivers a lot of navigation for the money. Feature a bright 5" QVGA color display, satellite-enhanced worldwide basemap imagery, and an SD card slot that makes it easy to add features with the optional BlueChart g2 Vision card. Like all Garmin plotters, these utilize WAAS/EGNOS-enabled GPS receivers for extreme high accuracy (typically within 3 meters).

Worldwide basemap on all models can be enhanced with the optional BlueChart g2 Vision card, which provides high-resolution aerial reference photos for help navigating tricky harbors and channels — or locating spots like area marinas, fuel stops or restaurants.
The g2 Vision plug-in data card also allows the GPSMAP 520 to graphically depict a true 3D "mariner's eye" topside view or "fish eye" underwater navigation perspective.

With fewer buttons to push and fewer operational steps to navigate, the simplified menu format makes it easy for you to see and select the data you want to access on-screen.

Optional g2 Vision auto guidance technology will help simplify your navigation. It's like having a knowledgeable guide to local hazards and waterways always on deck. Auto Guidance searches all the chart features to suggest the best known charted route for navigation.

Fishfinder Option
The "S" models come with powerful transom mount transducer to clearly paint depth contours, fish targets, structure, etc.
It's also CANet capable, allowing sounder data to be shared with other plotter displays on your boat.
The 520 and 540 transducer is dual-frequency.
The 530 transducer is dual beam.
